Party leadership yet to be identified

The Civil Unity Party is expected to turn one year on May 6. A statement the party has issued on this occasion says its organizing committee, functioning since March 23, 2000, initially included 23 people, 17 of whom are now members of a wing led by Igbal Aghazadeh, while the rest of the party backs ex-president Ayaz Mutallibov.

The former wing has ousted pro-Mutallibov members for what it believes was serving Russia's interests.*
