 | Archive complaining on lack of space |
It has been 20 years since the department for state archives under the Cabinet of Ministers stopped accepting documents for storage due to the lack of space. It remains to be guessed how the huge paperwork of all government institutions is being stored.
According to the director of the department A. Pashayev, he has met with vice-premier Abid Sharifov three times, but without much success.
Meanwhile, the recent abolition of a number of ministries and institutions requires urgent decision-making in regard to the heaps of paper documents they all have left behind.
Mr. Pashayev told AssA-Irada Thursday that foundation for the new archive building was laid in 1972, but the area it was being built on has been illegally sold to someone.*
