 | PA CE chairman expected on visit |
Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PA CE) Russell Johnston is expected to visit Azerbaijan September 9-11 to become familiar with the socio-political situation in the country, human rights problems and freedoms of speech and press, according to a diplomatic source.
The dignitary is also expected to hold talks with Azeri authorities on regional security guarantees and settlement of the Garabagh conflict.
Lord Johnston will meet with leaders of political parties.
The PA CE chairman will then travel to Armenia.*
