 | Municipal by-election results announced |
The Central Election Commission (CEC) announced the results of re-runs to municipalities of April 27. The CEC chairman Mazahir Panahov said election outcomes were to be announced within 20 days, but since protocols of election commissions are ready, the CEC can already issue the results, he said.
299 members of municipal councils were elected to 242 municipalities. Elections in one municipality in Sabirabad province failed, with poling to be conducted anew.
198,872 of 444,108 voters, or 44.7%, came to the polls.
550 local and 8 foreign observers took part in the election. The CEC has received only 7 complaints and is considering them.*
