PNIA protests police treatment of under-age girl

The PNIA has voiced protest to the detention of a 12-year-old girl Vasila Seyidova and her being forced to testify against her father, the party said in a statement Saturday.

Police reportedly detained the chairman of the Narimanov district branch of the Azerbaijan Democratic Party and his daughter on April 20.

The two were separately taken to police, where the girl was pressed to give evidence compromising her father.

The PNIA expresses solidarity with the family of the child and demands to hold the guilty accountable.*
