 | Azeri businessmen to start co-op with TRNC |
Adviser to the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Atay Ahmed Rashid met with Azeri entrepreneurs at the Entrepreneurs Confederation of Azerbaijan Friday, as the parties explored for possibilities of establishing bilateral economic relations.
The counselor said TRNC maintains trade and economic contact with 70 countries of the world with foreign turnover standing at $400 million. However, the share of Azerbaijan in it is extremely low, he said.
He emphasized the possibility of establishing business contacts in the area of tourism and banking.
Chairman of the Confederation A. Mammadov said this was the reason for his invitation of the businessmen to Azerbaijan.
Mr. Rashid, who had been TRNC Trade and Foreign Minister, intends to propose to the Azeri authorities to open regular flights between Baku and TRNC.*
