Information and consultation service for farmers

The information and consultation service on the WB-funded “Development and crediting of agriculture” has started functioning in Azerbaijan. This is the second of five key project components, according to a source from the Agency for Private Sector Development in Agriculture.
The service has begun work with 6 provinces of the Nakhchivan AR and a regional consultative center established on the spot. In this connection, upgrade courses were held for private consultants on March 12-16. Currently, 10 consultants work in Sharur, 8 in Babak, 4 in Ordubad, 3 in Julfa, 3 in Shahbuz, and 2 in Sadarak. Besides, the service employees are being sent to NAR provinces to hold training courses and monitoring.
$33.6 million has been allocated for the second component of the project.*
