Aliyev congratulates new French leader

President Ilham Aliyev on Sunday sent a message of congratulation to Nicolas Sarkozy on his election as the new French president.

In his letter, Aliyev said he attached great importance to friendly ties between Azerbaijan and France.

“I am confident that relations between our countries and cooperation in many areas of mutual interest will continuously expand for the sake of the welfare of our peoples,” the letter said.*
