Baku to host week of Arab culture

Days of Arab culture will be organized in Baku for the first time starting on Tuesday. A 40-people strong delegation led by the deputy culture minister of the United Arab Emirates Sagr Gubashin has arrived in Azerbaijan for the purpose.

The opening ceremony of the week-long event was held at the Center of Museums on the same day, the Azerbaijan Ministry of Culture told AssA-Irada.

Baku residents will be able to enjoy exhibitions of photos and drawings as well as a concert featuring Arab singers as part of the event.

The visitors are due to meet with the Minister of Culture Polad Bulbuloghlu on Wednesday. They are also expected to visit the ancient Gobustan region, known for its marvelous rock carvings, Atashgah fire worshippers site and the Shaki ancient district of Azerbaijan.

The Arab representatives will perform at the Shaki State Drama Theater. They will complete their visit to the country at the Rashif Behbudov Theater of Song on October 2.

Days of Azerbaijani culture were held in UAE last April.
