Passenger turnover up

In January-February 2001, 146 million passengers were transported by transport enterprises and physical entities, or 2.8% over 2000. Passenger turnover in all types of transport has risen: railway by 27%, sea by 21%, air by 20%, underground by 4%, buses by 2.6%, etc.
Two thirds of the turnover were made up of automobiles, of which 98% private sector – the highest indicator in years.*
