Russia proposes joint TV and radio projects
Russia has proposed to Azerbaijan to start major joint TV and radio projects, the Russian Foreign Ministry representative Alexander Yakovenko told a roundtable attended by the two countries’ public figures.
“In connection with holding the Year of Azerbaijan in Russia in 2005 and the year of Russia in Azerbaijan in 2006, broader opportunities have opened up for a closer cooperation of the two countries’ mass media. We propose to consider developing major joint TV and radio projects dedicated to the history and culture of the Russian and Azerbaijani people.”
Yakovenko added that maintaining and expanding the information network within the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) is a key trend in Russia’s foreign policy.*
