Israeli pianist to give another concert in Baku

The Ministry of Culture and the Israeli embassy in Baku continue to hold concerts of renowned Israeli musicians in Azerbaijan’s capital. Pianist Iossi Reshef performed at the State Philharmony on Thursday.

Reshef told a news conference at the Baku Academy of Music on Friday that another concert will be held at the Academy on December 29 within the Israeli embassy’s “series of cultural projects”. The event will include pieces by Azerbaijani composer Khayyam Mirzazada, he said.

Prior to leaving Baku on January 2, 2005, the Israeli musician intends to give master classes and meet with the rector of the Academy of Music Farhad Badalbayli to discuss a concert that he plans to give in Baku in June 2005.

Reshef has been awarded First Class Zilberman prize, the John Tesh prize and the prize of Adele Marcus Foundation for his outstanding performance of Israeli music.
