Ukrainian cargo airplane crashes in Baku
An IL-76 cargo airplane owned by Ukrainian Azovavia Company crashed near Bina Airport of Baku a few minutes after take-off on Thursday morning.
The State Concern AzAl told AssA-Irada that the plane flying via the Ankara-Baku-Kabul flight crashed 3-4 kilometers away from the airport at an altitude of 50-60 meters. The plane landed at Bina Airport for refueling.
Three of the eight crew members of the airplane, including the head pilot died, while the remainder got various injuries as a result of the accident. The injured were hospitalized.
Employees of the airport's crash service rushed the site immediately after the crash. A special commission has been set up to investigate the causes of the accident.*
