Would-be presidents very few

A meeting of intellectuals and journalists with those who claim presidency in Azerbaijan, initiated by the committee for constitutional rights, was held at the ADP office Friday. It was not attended by key politicians: Isa Gambar, Etibar Mammadov and Ilyas Ismayilov, with only ALP chairperson L.-Sh. Hajiyeva in attendance and ADP co-chair Rasul Guliyev and ex-president Ayaz Mutallibov participating over telephone.
The parties focused on the need for unification in the opposition and on how to make the authorities change the political course. Would-be presidents proposed ways of resolving the Garabagh problems and improving the social status of the population. They spoke in favor of liberation of Garabagh in a military and diplomatic way, stressing a need for a strong army, which can be built on the basis of a powerful economy.*
