Arrears constitute AZM17trln

As of early March, mutual arrears of enterprises and organizations in Azerbaijan reached AZM16.9 trillion. In 2000 alone, enterprises were owed AZM2.9 trillion. 66.6% of such debts occur on industrial entities, 15.9% on transport and 17.5% on other spheres.
According to a Ministry of Economics source, as of 2001 SOCAR was owed AZM6.9 trillion, “AzerEnergy” JSC AZM5.3 trillion, “AzeriGas” JSC AZM1.4 trillion, the Absheron Regional Water Company AZM600 billion, the Railway AZM416 billion, Ministry of Communication AZM246 billion.*
