Oil-field engineering plants preparing for privatization

The Ministry of State Property has started work on denationalization of 11 oil-field engineering plants, most of which do not function and no longer represent huge importance for the sector. The Cabinet of Ministers, however, seems to be in no hurry and wants to retain government control over them in order for the plants not to fall under the monopoly of foreign companies, according to a source from the ministry.
It is indicative that until recently the government was maintaining that oil-field engineering works would not be privatized any time soon.*
